After two first starts in Bavarian Landshut, Emil Sayfutdinov did not have any win. In his team, however, everybody was calm, because Emil was crossing the finish line as second twice. After four heats, Sayfutdinov had 9 points and only one win. At the long and fast track, not all the setups were optimal and because of that Russian had to look for them constantly and correct the current settings.
In fact, direct advance to the big final was reached in heat no. 17, when he beat Nicki Pedersen. Through the whole meeting, Dane was in the top, but had to fight for the final heat in the race-off.
Sayfutdinov, though, after beating his biggest rival, was getting ready for the final heat calmly. In the first attempt, Sayfutdinov had a good start, but after 30 metres was forced to shut the gas down. There was a collision between Tomasz Gollob (who was simply great on that evening) and Nicki Pedersen.
After a long analysis, referee decided to exclude Pole and Sayfutdinov knew that he would have a chance to make even better start. And that's exactly what happened! Russian started perfectly and with no bigger problems, defeated Nicki Pedersen for the second time. That win brought additional point of advantage in the overall classification. Two tournaments - two points. Everyone knew that it's not a significant advantage, so the real test was about to come in the third round in Kumla.
