When he was given a permanent Wild Card from the SEC organizers, many people had some doubts. During the season, though, he proved with his attitude that it was a good choice and the Euro Championship's medal is a perfect confirmation.
In this year's cycle of Speedway Euro Championship, there were three riders in every final: Emil Sayfutdinov, Nicki Pedersen and Antonio Lindbaeck. Not a surprise then, that these three dominated the Championship.
Everything started from a really good start in the main series at one of his favourite tracks: MotoArena in Toruń. After reaching 12 points, Toninho advanced straight to the final. In the first phase of the tournament, Swede lost only with three rivals. That was enough to choose the starting gate as a second. Unfortunately, final heat didn't go the way he expected and despite the ambitious fight, he didn't appear at the podium.
The real challenge came in Landshut. After two weak starts, Lindbaeck went for broke and it brought the right effect. Four next wins gave the final, of course after the race-off heat. In the most important heat, however, he had to accept the superiority of Sayfutdinov and Pedersen again.
In Kumla, from the very beginning he was only behind Emil Sayfutdinov, but in the most important heat, he made a mistake that made him lost one point and a place on the podium. While attacking second position taken by Grigorij Laguta, he crossed the track's line with two wheels and referee decided to exclude Swede and take his third position.
Final round in Ostrów Wielkopolski was a real Swede's show. Maximum points gathered in the main series caused that it was the final heat, which was about to decide who would get the silver medal of Euro Championship 2015. Ultimately, Lindbaeck came third, behind Kołodziej and most importantly Pedersen. That made Lindbaeck finishing third in the overall SEC 2015 classification. However, it was Lindbaeck's action from the 8th heat in Ostrów Wlkp., when he dealt with Pawlicki brothers, which was selected as the top of the tops in the past SEC season!
