Up until the reform of Individual European Championship, which is until 2013, Poland held proudly the 1st place in overall medal classification in the championship's history. Since the line-up had been significantly strenghtened, the white and red have got a serious issue to reach any of the medals.
So far, Janusz Kołodziej has been the best Pole (secured his place twice for the series after reaching the TOP5). That would be an overuse though, with pointing a statement that he was close to the medal.
In the history of the championship, Poland has gathered 13 medals, but from 2013, non of the Poles couldn't reach the podium. What's more, only Janusz Kołodziej (as a permanent rider) stood on the podium in the single round (twice). It happened in the inaugural round in Guestrow (SEC 2014) and at the end of this year's cycle – in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
The only Pole, who won the SEC round was the wild card rider in Gorican (2013) – Krzysztof Kasprzak. Poles are still waiting for their first medal in European Championship in a new formula. All they can do right now is waiting until the next season comes.
