The second place in the general classification of Speedway European Championships series and the loss of nine points to the leader Emil Sayfutdinov. That’s the current situation of Nicki Pedersen, who dreams of a gold medal but would have to probably put away his dreams for next year.
The inauguration of this year's struggle for the title of Europe champion began to Dane perfectly. Victory in Torun with undefeated until then, Emil Sayfutdinov made that after the competition at Motoarena, "Power" lost to a Russian one point. Tough fight was also fought by both of them in German Landshut.
In Bavaria, Nicki Pedersen at the beginning was not unstoppable, but due to the worse end, he had to break through the race – off to the finals. In the grand finale, right after the start he hooked with a motorcycle with Tomasz Gollob and fell to the track. Pole was excluded from the re - run, and so it was certain that Pedersen finished the second SEC tournament on the podium. In the final he was only worse than the leader of the series and after two rounds his loss to Russian was only two points.
In Kumla Pedersen grabbed only "two". In five heats of the regular phase he scored 10 points. In the final he finished last, but the referee decided to exclude Antonio Lindbaeck who was ahead of Dane for exceeding the track line with two wheels. Thus, some happily Pedersen again was on the podium.
We are ahead of last competition, on September 19th in Ostrow Wielkopolski riders will fight for the last points this season in SEC series. This cannot be missed!
