Nicki Pedersen the winner of the first round of Speedway European Championships series 2014! – said the headlines of portals and newspapers. Dane started fight for European Champion title perfect in German Güstrow. It was there, on the 6th of July the season for the best fifteen riders of Europe started.
The riders who showed up in Güstrow grumbled only about the weather. Then in Germany was incredible heat and the temperature reached 40 Celsius degrees in the sun. In such conditions the riders showed up on the track to know its lines.
Just after the official training there was big storm which cleaned a little bit the place from dust which was everywhere. However 24 hours later It was necessary to deal with the heat again. Nicki Pedersen, who won German round of SEC, did it best.
- It’s incredible feeling. I was riding here last time fifteen years ago. When you ride in front of full stadium, there is new energy in you and you want to win. I am very happy and I’m going to Togliatti for another points – said after receiving the cup, Nicki Pedersen.
There were two leaders after the first round – Nicki Pedersen and Janusz Kołodziej scored 14 points. Togliatti was already on the horizon…
