All riders who want to take part in Speedway European Championships series will have to cope with three qualifying rounds and Challenge. Although it is hard and difficult way, it is worth to try.
At the beginning, the first qualifying round was planned in Ukraine, in Rowne. Unfortunately the political situation forced the organizers to resigning from this tournament. It was taken over by Latvian federation and on the 4th of May in Daugavpils we’ll see first riders who will fight for places in SEC.
Daugavpils is really well prepared for such events and thanks to the experience which they gained while organizing World Championships rounds from 2006 to 2009.
Next on the 17th and 25th of May there will be another qualifying rounds of European Championships in Krsko and Zarnowica. The final fight for SEC will be Challenge, which was mentioned before, in Debrecen (Hungary) on 397 – meter long track.
Good score in Hungary will be the pass for the world where there are already: European Champion from 2013 – Martin Vaculik, Nicki Pedersen, Grigorij Laguta, Tomasz Gollob, Emil Sajfutdinow and Andreas Jonsson.
Last year qualifying round in Zarnowica was won by Jurica Pavlic who beat Grigorij Laguta and Roman Povazhny. The only rider of three mentioned who will fight for SEC 2014 is Jurica Pavlic because Povazhny ended his career.
