Nicki Pedersen chose the number with which he will start in Speedway European Championships. Vice – European Champion 2013 confirmed that there will be number #5 on his plastron. It is worth to add that “five” will be also present on other parts of the rider’s kevlar.
- I’m not superstitious, I don’t have my favorite numbers so the choice was neither easy nor obvious. I chose “five”, fans can associate me with this number since now because I will also ride with #5 in World Championships – says Nicki Pedersen.
Dane also emphasizes that the idea with the numbers is really modern and interesting thing. – the choice of the number is something new but I’m sure it will be accepted. Such decision of the organizers gives freedom to the riders because everybody has his own favorite numbers. We are not restricted by the place in the ranking we can just decide what number we want on our race jacket.
