The organizers of Speedway European Championships have officially announced the place of the first round of SEC in 2014. The best riders in Europe is starting their rivalry for the European Champion title in German town Guestrow. It will take place on the 6th of July 2014.

MC Guestrow is a club which has 50 year tradition. What is interesting the track there is made from slag which is quite rare nowadays. It is 298 meters long and the record was made by Piotr Protasiewicz. It’s a difficult and technical track on which only few participants of SEC had an occasion to ride. Fans, on the other hand, can expect great fight in each heat.

Problems with FIM/ FIM Europe made our work a little bit slower but it seems that there will be no bans concerning Speedway European Championships and we can finish this on which we have been working for quite a long time. We can confirm the information – first round of SEC 2014 is taking place in Germany. We’re keeping the promise about which we said at the begging of our work that we want to present our products on in a new places. Last year it was Russia and Togliatti and now we are coming to Germany and Guestrow. We don’t put very big liabilities on organizers. On the next rounds we are working together. We know that it will cost us a lot of effort but we are convinced that we have made a really good decision and we are looking forward to that great Sunday in July – says the representative of One Sport Jan Konikiewicz.

Germany is the country with really big potential, as far as speedway is concerned – signals which we are receiving are clear. The audience in Germany during this year’s rounds of SEC was impressive, the highest in while Europe, just after Poland. People want speedway in this country and together with MC Guestrow we want to give them occasion to see a live event on the highest level. We want to make a use with the potential which is in this country and we are convinced that it is right choice which will make benefits not only for our tournament but for the whole European and German speedway. That’s a new chapter for this discipline in this country. We want to develop speedway in the West and we want to do it not by slogans but by the real activities. Another places for SEC 2014 will be known at the beginning of January – added Karol Lejman from One Sport.

Torsten Juern (MC Guestrow), the representative of the organizer is also very satisfied with the deal concerning organizing SEC. Being a part of SEC is a great honor for our club and a great challenge at the same time. It is surely the biggest and most prestigious tournament which we are going to organize. Juern emphasizes great trust which were given to them by One Sport and assures that Guestrow will do everything to make the transmission the best and thanks to it promote speedway. The workers in our club are really motivated – when we organize any events we always do our best because we want riders and fans to have only good memories. We are really happy that we can host the best riders in Europe on our stadium. Live transmission in Eurosport makes us even more motivated – I am sure that we will do 110 % norm to celebrate our mutual organizational success. It is really hard work but we are ready for that. – ends the representative of the first organizer of SEC 2014.

The sale of tickets will start at the beginning of February 2014.
All Speedway European Championships tournaments will be possible to watch in Eurosport during live transmissions in 71 countries all over the world.
