Tomasz Gollob is another rider after Andreas Jonsson and Emil Sayfutinov, who received and accepted a wild card to compete in Speedway European Championships 2014. Those 3 joined Martin Vaculik, Nicki Pedersen and Grigory Laguta who have secured their start in the next edition of SEC thanks to being in top 3 of general classification last season.

Gollob showed up from the very good side in three tournaments last season. In Gdansk with 13 points on account he has won a regular round, but finished on 4th position in the final. In Togliatti he get 9 and in Gorican 10 points, to be before the last round in Rzeszow on the third place, only 2 points behind Nicki Pedersen who was leading the series. Due to an injury sustained during the Grand Prix in Stockholm, the best Polish rider in history had to end the season prematurely.

- Speedway European Championships is a great project that brought a lot of freshness to the speedway . Thanks to live broadcasts on Eurosport, organisers managed to reach a completely new fans, which no doubt will cause the development of the sport. All tournaments last season were very well organized , and most importantly, the riders starting in the SEC felt comfortable and felt the joy of racing there. Without any hesitation I decided to start in this competition next season - explains Gollob . - This year I was a close to fight for the European title , which is missing in my collection. I will do everything next year to join the fight for final victory - admits World Champion in 2010 .

- This choice was natural for us , Tomasz is a true legend. Last season the SEC was developing excellently for him, but injury prevented him from fighting for the title of European Champion. We are confident that Gollob will be one of the favorites for next year's tournament , which promises to be very interesting - say the SEC organisers - Tomasz supported our idea from the beginning. He believed in our project , served his valuable advices and helped us on many issues, for which we are very grateful. We are pleased that the next season he will also be with us - summarizes One Sport.
