Matej Zagar took part in the unofficial World Championships in Torun Pr Motoarena joining Ales Dryml and at the same time creating a pair of Czech - Slovenian. The player has not competed in this year's SEC, but does not rule out their participation in the project next year. The last season of his expectations and the results told in an interview.

Radosław Zieliński (SEC): Last season was not a full of success for you on average even by the fact that your Polish team relegated.
Matej Zagar:
Unfortunately, it happened, but no one seems to have thought that eighty percent of the players of the club will reduce flight and thus the average. If you are not going the whole team, so unfortunately it had to end.

R.Z: Have you seen this year's struggle for the title of Europe's best rider?
M.Z:
I watched the first competition in Gdansk. Then, unfortunately, in these days, which took place in competitions, I had planned take-offs and I was not able to watch live SEC.

R.Z: Are you a big surprise for the victory Martin Vaculik?
M.Z:
To be honest, it's not. Taking into account the fact that injured was Tai Woffinden and Nicki Pedersen is not feeling well that day in Rzeszow track, it Vaculik won deservedly. Someone has to win, someone has to lose. Very cool that he won, because he has shown that you can make up a significant loss of even one tournament.

R.Z: What are the chances that in the next season, fans can see you struggling with the SEC?
M.Z:
For now, I want to wait, as I lay the contracts in the league clubs. For me, the priority is to fight for the world championship and the league Polish and English. Do not want to make any statements yet, but if I had not enough races of the season, I want to ride with the SEC.

R.Z: How would you rate the new formula of playing the European Championships?
M.Z:
I really like this new formula. First of all, you can enjoy that cup regained its former glory. They ride in their best speedway riders in Europe, because until recently they were unfortunately sub tournaments. After the first season, you will see that everything is going in the right direction and I hope it stays that way for a long time.

R.Z: This year's season is a constant injuries. What do you think contributed to the number of accidents?
M.Z:
Accidents in the speedway were, are and will be. It's just a sport. However, I believe that much of the accidents were caused by just that someone was unable at the moment to let go. Everyone knows its capabilities and should never exceed the fine line. If someone is going effectively, but there is therefore no accident, then everything is fine. Speaking of injuries, it's very sorry for Tomasz Gollob, who serves no fault, and now feel the effects of the fall.

R.Z: New season, new opportunities. Did you change something in your pit?
M.Z:
Large changes certainly will not. At the moment I'm looking for another mechanic, and the sponsor, but other than that I do not want to change anything. All I have arranged and hopefully together with my team we look to the future.

R.Z: You are one of the tallest speedway riders. How do you cope with the increase in motorcycle? This forces you to any particular cycling technique?
M.Z:
From the moment he finished his career Rafal Dobrucki, I'm the tallest rider. I do not have any problems with the technique, but I'm always about ten kilograms heavier than the other riders. I think that the speedway should adopt rules, such as prevail in Formula 1, where the player is weighed together with the car. If the slag to do the same, it certainly would be a more even contest, and my chances of even better performances would be greatly increased. It is known that the weight is always the way.

R.Z: What goals do you have for next year?
M.Z:
At the moment I can not think of specific targets. I will try to prepare the best for the new season, and thus I will do everything to make this new season was the best for me and for the team, which will be performed.

R.Z: Fans in Gorzow hope that after a year, the forced break, go back to Stal. What are the chances of that?
M.Z:
All the time still a chances. I can say that I am in touch with Mr. Ireneusz Zmora we're really close to an agreement. If everything works out, then I want to give the fans a lot of fun.

R.Z: Do you think that showing speedway on Eurosport make this discipline will become even more popular?
M.Z:
Sure, Eurosport is the largest sports channel in the world, so showing speedway is a very good idea. If you will be spending a lot of time this discipline, you will surely expand to a bunch of fans of speedway.

R.Z: At the end, would you like to say something to your fans?
M.Z:
I would like to thank all the fans who have been with me and supported me in 2013. I hope there will be many more in the next season and I hope that we all will have a very successful season.

R.Z: Thank You very much.
