Moto Arena in Łódź will host the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship series for the first time. The state-of-the-art stadium has everything to welcome the top riders not only from Europe, but also from around the world.
The Moto Arena was built in 2016-2018, and in its short history it has already managed to show itself as a facility that craves a great speedway. The track is 321 metres long and can seat just over 10,000 spectators. The surface and geometry are conducive to spectacular overtakes and make it possible for riders to choose from a variety of fast lines.
In addition to league racing, the Moto Arena has hosted the 'Matches of Nations'. In recent years, the local track has hosted stars such as Jason Doyle, Chris Holder, Patryk Dudek and Bartosz Smektała.
The Individual European Championship series is making its debut at this venue, but speedway observers are already rubbing their hands and believing that this was a good choice made by the organizers. It is enough to recall the league matches between Łódź with Zielona Góra or Bydgoszcz, and we already know that on September 3 we should expect speedway at the highest level. Such riders as Leon Madsen, Janusz Kołodziej, Mikkel Michelsen or the aforementioned Dudek and Smektała will certainly be keen to find interesting solutions on the track in Łódź.
A great spectacle is hoped for by the Honorary President of Orzeł Łódź, Witold Skrzydlewski, and the President of One Sport, Karol Lejman. The charismatic activist was already looking forward to the guests who will be coming to the Moto Arena in early September.
- Łódź is always open to all fans and I hope we will fill the stadium to the last seat. I remember when - at the old stadium - we won promotion to the highest level of the competition twice, but then we didn't have a facility that could allow us to ride in the elite. Now, thanks to events like the TAURON SEC, we show everyone that we are ready to get up on the next level - Witold Skrzydlewski said at the official press conference.
With a modern facility and a high level line-up, the Moto Arena's debut in the TAURON SEC 2022 series comes with great expectations. The venue was already raising aspirations to host major events when it was built, and will do so in early September.
The third round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship will take place on September 3 in Łódź. Tickets for the event are available via ebilet.pl. The start of the meeting is scheduled for 19:00 CEST. At 16:00 animations will begin in the Fan Zone, which will include an autograph session with the riders and a meeting with Sam Ermolenko.
