This is the eighth consecutive season that the Wuppertal-born German rider has competed for the title of Individual European Champion. This makes the popular "Hucki" one of the most experienced riders in the series. How did the German perform in previous editions of the TAURON SEC?
Kai made his debut in the competition for the Individual European Champion in 2015 in Landshut. At that time, the young German was named the first reserve rider at the first round of the series. That day, Huckenbeck raced only once, scoring on point.
For the next two years after his debut in the TAURON SEC, the German received a wild card from the organizers for the rounds held at the Güstrow track. Huckenbeck in both years took full advantage of the opportunity he was given, finishing both the 2016 and 2017 competitions in the top five. In 2016, Kai accumulated a satisfying nine points result in his five starts of the main round, which allowed him to fight for the grand final in the race-off. In the end, the black horse of the competition did not enter the final run, finishing in third place.
A year later, the situation was almost identical. After the main round, the German recorded twelve points, then lost the decisive barrage run to enter the final. To say that Huckenbeck made a positive impression through his performance in Güstrow is like saying nothing.
The following year, Huckenbeck finally became a regular competitor in the series. In his debut season, the German finished tenth overall. During the four rounds he collected on his account a total of 26 points. The German rider also finished the series with the same score in 2019. The following year, on the other hand, was slightly worse, as the German in the was ranked twelfth in the overall classification. Certainly, Huckenbeck will remember his performance in the inaugural round of TAURON SEC in Gniezno, in 2018, when he stood on the third step of the podium. It was his 2nd podium finish so far in his performance history.
Last season, the German rider finished ninth after four rounds, interestingly without winning a single race!
The inaugural round of this year's competition "Hucki" finished in tenth place with seven "points" to his credit. Will the only German rider in the stakes improve his last year's feat?
