Last Sunday in polish Enea Extraleague two meetings for gold and bronze medal were held. In both cases home teams were the squads which were lower in the table after the regular season. In Toruń Unibax were racin' against Stelmet Falubaz and in Tarnów Unia fought with Dospel Włókniarz Czestochowa.
Unibax Toruń - Stelmet Falubaz Zielona Góra 46:43
Sensational speedway in Toruń. Every heat was very emotional from the start till the end. Another time in this season Motoarena were fully filled by supporters. 17 500 people was there on the first leg of the great final. Fans have got what they expected – very equal fixture with the last heat decider. Unibax wasn't sure about the win till the end of the meeting. Huge pressure was on Tomasz Gollob and Darcy Ward who couldn't loose in the heat 15. Toruń pair beat Piotr Protasiewicz and Andreas Jonsson and they took a final three points win over Falubaz. Darcy Ward was definately the man of the match and rider of the night in this competition. Darky showed tremendous racin' and gave the big boost for the audience.
Fantastic and warm welcome was for Chris Holder of course who came first time after injury to Torun. Crispy was in very good mood and he was smilin' and havin' a good time on the Motoarena venue. He promised that he will be back next year.
Unia Tarnów - Dospel CKM Włókniarz Częstochowa 49:41
Very unlucky begining for the away team 'cause comin' back from SEC final in Gorican Grigorij Laguta after the mechanical problems with his van was late for the first few heats in Tarnow. But it was really happy ending story for russian international who borrowed Artur's Czaja bikes and rode really well on them. Same problem was for Kacper Gomolski who was comin' back from Terenzano U-21 final. He had a van stop close to Vienna. After that Kacper could count on Adam's Strzelec help and with him he went to Tarnów. Gomolski used Maciej Janowski's equipment. In heat number Rune Holta saw a yellow card from the referee for messin' near the start gate. Another one card have been shown in heat number 14. This time Gomolski was to hard on Czaja and referee couldn't do nothing more about it than just give a yellow card to the Tarnow junior.
