Leon Madsen surprisingly took “only” sixth place during the third round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2020 which took place in Gniezno. The Dane scored nine points and now is on the second place in the interim classification of the cycle with a two point loss to the leader, Robert Lambert.

After the victory in Rybnik it seemed that the Dane could extend his series of victories to five in a row. On Thursday, the Individual European Champion from 2018 fought not only with his rivals but also against the track, which caused him many problems. As he stressed, the fight for the title will be decided in Toruń, where he will do his best to reclaim the championship title.

- It was tough, the track wasn't easy, there were ruts everywhere, so we were struggling a lot. I still managed to score 9 points and and I’m still in the game, so now the battle goes down to Toruń. I will be ready to fight and I will do my best to win the European Championship - said Madsen.

In Torun we will have a great fight for the title of Individual European Champion and also for a spot in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix 2021 series. The Dane stresses that his rival, Robert Lambert is in a great position, but he himself has only good memories from Torun.

- I had only good meetings in Toruń, but it's gonna be tough. He had his day today, but I will comeback even stronger - ended Leon Madsen.

The final round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2020 will be held on 29th of July in Toruń. Tickets for this event are available via The competition will start at 7 PM.
