Grigory Laguta won the first round of this year's Individual European Championship series. The Russian won 15 points in Güstrow and is a leader in the transitional classification of the cycle.
For Laguta, they were the first competition in the TAURON SEC cycle for three years. The Russian, in Güstrow, rode not only effectively but also efficiently. The 12 points he scored in the main round were enough to get directly to the final race of the day. In it, Laguta faced the debut of this year's struggles, Bartosz Smektała, defender of the championship title, Leon Madsen and Antonio Lindbaeck. The Russian won the start and despite the attacks of the Dane, he won the victory to the finish line.
- In Güstrow I went on a good competition. I have not competed in this circuit for three years and now I have won. I am also happy with the full stands, because it brings players - said Laguta.
Grigory Laguta in his return to the TAURON SEC cycle won 15 points, which means that before the round in Toruń, he has three points advantage over the second in the intermediate classification of the cycle Bartosz Smektała. The Russian admits that in the Individual European Championship cycle the most important thing is to score as many points as possible.
- I came back and I feel very good. I am properly prepared for the season and the TAURON SEC cycle. Today was not testing, everything sounded as it should. There are still many rounds ahead of us, and the most important thing is to get as many points as possible to get a gold medal - finished Grigory Laguta.
The second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2019 will take place on July 27 at Motoarena in Toruń. Tickets for the competition are available on the eBilet.pl portal.
