Bartosz Smektała, in his debut performance in the TAURON SEC cycle, took the third place during the Saturday competition in Güstrow. The Polish representative emphasizes that participation in this year's Individual European Championships is of great importance to him.
Smektała used the advantage of the internal starting fields on the track in Güstrow and the struggle began with two wins. Thanks to the great ride, the Polish representative advanced directly to the final race, in which he took the third place.
- I am happy with my debut in the TAURON SEC cycle. I must admit that I was also very lucky with the gates. When I came to Güstrow, I already had some driving experience on this track, but each competition is different and it does not always translate into a positive result. This year is my last in the role of a junior, that's why SEC is a big challenge for me, because I deal with seniors - said Smektała.
The current Individual Junior World Champion takes second place in the intermediate classification of the cycle, having a point of advantage over Leon Madsen and Antonio Lindbaeck. The next round of struggles will take place in Toruń, where Smektała mixes good performances with the weaker ones.
- I hope that in Torun will be "my day". I was not always good at Motoarena, but I rate the last performance positively. It will definitely be a great spectacle. Torun track is great for a fight, it will certainly be interesting - Bartosz Smektała finished.
The second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2019 will take place on July 27 in Toruń. Tickets for this event are available at eBilet.pl
