Once again, the Śląski Stadium, a legendary place for Polish speedway fans, will become an arena where the final of the Individual Speedway European Championship will take place. Once again, the TAURON SEC cycle will be organized with the support of the titular sponsor. On July 8, during a press conference, a sponsorship agreement was signed between the organizer of the competition - One Sport and TAURON company.
The Silesian Stadium is a place important for speedway in Poland. The greatest successes were achieved by Polish speedway riders - Jerzy Szczakiel in 1973 won the first title of the Individual World Champion for Poland, and Zenon Plech - apart from two individual medals of the World Championships - led the Polish national team to medals in the World Championships and Team World Championships. Last year, 45 years after the victory of Jerzy Szczakiel - this sport returned to the Silesian Stadium.
- Thanks to TAURON's support in 2018, we did something that seemed impossible to some. We set up an artificial track at the Silesian Stadium and the cinder returned to the "witches' pot". First, a match was played as part of the test, in which the Polish National Team defeated the Rest of the World. Two weeks later the fans gathered in the stands in Chorzów could see the final of the Individual Speedway European Championship. Then the Pole, Jarosław Hampel, stood on the second stage of the podium. Both meetings played as part of the project "Slag on Silesia" were a great celebration of fans of "black sport". I am convinced that this will be the case this year - says Karol Lejman, president of the board of One Sport Sp. Z o.o.
In order to make the finale of this year's TAURON Speedway Euro Championship even more exciting, some modifications will be made during the track construction. In comparison to last year, the track will be widened on straight lines by 1.5-2 meters. The arches will be more contoured and more surfaces will be poured. The track geometry will change as well - the second curve will be profiled. All this so that the participants can ride the entire track, not just at the inside. After last year's experience, when for the first time a speedway was built at the Silesian Stadium, fans can be sure that the event organizers will put in more work to be at this year's finals in the legendary for the Polish speedway, it was not only safe but extremely exciting. that there would be racing.
In September at the Silesian Stadium, the slag supporters can count on a great show and a lot of emotions. The competition is to be a real celebration of the fans - the organizers expect a set of spectators.

I am convinced that also this year fans will be witnesses of sporting competitions at the highest level - explains President Filip Grzegorczyk.
There are four meetings for this year's TAURON Speedway Euro Championship series. The first of them will take place on 13 July in German Güstrow. Two weeks later - on July 27, the second round of the cycle will take place in Toruń on Motoarena. On August 10, speedway races will race in Danish Vojens. On the 28th of September, at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, the grand finale of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship will be played.
This year's competition for the title of Individual European Speedway Champion will be contested by: Leon Madsen, who after last year's victory will defend the title of the Individual European Champion, Nicki Pedersen, Grigory Laguta, Jaroslaw Hampel, Kai Huckenbeck, Robert Lambert, Michael J. Jensen, Antonio Lindbaeck , Mikkel Michelsen, Vaclav Milik, Paweł Przedpełski, Kacper Woryna, Bartosz Smektała, David Bellego and Anders Thomsen.
