Danish riders: Nicki Pedersen and Anders Thomsen received the permanent wild cards for the Speedway Euro Championship 2019. Rivalry starts on July 13th.

Triple Individual World Champion, fourfold gold medalist with Denmark National Team and Individual European Champion 2016, Nicki Pedersen is coming back to the SEC series. Dane, who after his horrible injury in 2017, came back to a top disposition, confirms that he still has a lot to achieve on speedway arenas.

Pedersen has had four full seasons in the line up of Euro Championship and what's interesting, each time he has started in SEC, he ended with a medal.

In 2013, rider from Odense, got the silver medal of Individual European Championship. Even though before the final round in Rzeszów, he had been a leader of the general classification, thanks to a spectacular Martin Vaculik's performance, Dane had to settle for a silver. One year later, Pedersen got bronze, being behind Emil Sayfutdinov and Peter Kildemand's back. Season 2015 brought another silver.
What's interesting is that Nicki Pedersen, in his 27 starts in SEC 2015, didn't end any heat on the last position: won 9 heats, in 17 he was second and only once third. So far, his only gold came under some incredible circumstances. Before the final round of Speedway Euro Championship 2016, Pedersen was 9th overall, but after his incredibly effective racing, which gave him 17 points in the last round, Dane jumped on the top step of the podium.

Thomsen has also already started in the Euro Championship series. In 2016, Dane started in 16 heats, which gave him 20 points. Unfortunately, Thomsen ended his starts with in the heat no.4 of the SEC 2016 final round in Rybnik. Because of a crash, Dane got his both wrists broken.

In the current season, Thomsen represents Truly.work Stal Gorzów (Poland), Indianerna Kumla (Sweden) and Team Fjelsted (Denmark).
Member of the Denmark National Team started on every level of qualifying rounds to this year's Individual Speedway Euro Championship. Thomsen won the Danish qualifications in Outrup after gathering 13 points. During the round in Poznań, he was third with 11 points. Ultimately, in SEC Challenge, he ended behind the top 5 spots, giving a promotion to the finals. 10 points gathered and exclusion in the last-chance heat got Thomsen on the first spot right behind those who went through to SEC 2019.
Despite this failure in Nagyhalasz and because of his great results and good disposition, organizers decided to hand over the wild card to Danish rider.

- Seriously?! I got the wild card? Super, I'm really happy. It was one of my main goals for this season. I'm glad to be back in the series after not so bad 2016 season, which ended in unlucky way in Rybnik. Back then, I had a chance to stay in the series, but after my first heat I got my both wrists broken and was forced to part with Euro Championship for a while - Thomsen says.

- Tracks in this year's SEC look really great. I'm looking forward especially for the round in Vojens, where I will race before my home crowd. My aim for the Euro Championship? Surely, fighting for the podium, but you never know. One thing is sure - I will do my best - Thomsen ended.

Speedway Euro Championship 2019 starts in Guestrow (13th of July). Then, riders move to Toruń (27th of July), Vojens (10th of August). Great final will be held at Stadion Śląski in Chorzów (28th of September). Tickets for all of the rounds are available at www.speedwayeuro.com
