Mikkel Michelsen is one of the most talented young riders from Denmark. Rider born in 1994 is improving his results every year, and fans really like to watch his rides. It seems that it’s a good decision to follow his career, because he can be one of the riders, who made fantastic results as experienced men, without medals in junior times.
Michelsen was one of the biggest suprises in this year TAURON Speedway Euro Championship. Dane, who made a debut in the cycle, finished it on 4th position and lost a medal by only one point. Is he surprised or dissapointed?
- I’m satisfied. My form was pretty good for the whole cycle. I think I proved I deserve a place in TAURON SEC. For sure, I’m also a little bit disappointed, because I was really close to podium. Last round was fantastic for me, but it’s speedway – said debutant.
Dane also praises the organisation of TAURON Speedway Euro Championsip by One Sport company from Torun.
- Everything was done in the right way. It was a huge pleasure to ride in such well prepared cycle and I am really happy that I will come back there next year – he said. We have to remind, that Michelsen secured a place for him in TAURON SEC 2019.
Also, how does Dane judge speedway’s comeback on Śląski Stadium?
- Last round was really fantastic. It was a huge experience to ride for as many spectators on the stands. Also the surface was well done, so we hadn’t any problems to make a show. The fight was really amazing. Coming back on Śląski was a fantastic idea. I hope, that next year it will look the same – said Michelsen, who scored 12 points in Chorzów, which was his best result in SEC 2018.
Dane says that this year’s results are not a case, but they do not satisfy him. His plans for next year are very ambitious.
- Next year I want to reach for a medal, for sure. I know that I am able to, and I hope I will do it. This year I was close, but next one has to be better. Also I want to keep focusing on Grand Prix Challenge – finished Dane.
