Leon Madsen won the third round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018, which was taken in Daugavpils (Latvia). Thanks to his high score, Dane overtook Jarosław Hampel and got himself to the top of overall classification of the series.

In Daugavpils, Madsen gathered 16 points after a very fast and effective racing. Once again, Danish rider was the top-scorer of the night.

- 16 points is a great result. I'm very happy with that. One step closer to gold, but we're not there yet. There is still one round left to be done. We have to stay humble, keep focus and try to finish the job in Chorzów - Madsen said.

Dane attempted the meeting in Daugavpils with a three-point loss to Jarosław Hampel. After three series of starts, this difference was reduced and after the race-off heat, where Pole ended the meeting, it was already known that Madsen would build his advantage in the final heat.

- Four points is not much, everything can happen. Of course, it's better going to the last round with four points lead than have any points behind - that's obvious. As I sad, we still have to keep focus, work hard and keep pushing. I feel really strong, have some good equipment and a good team around me, which gives me comfort and confidence.

Final round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018 will take place at Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. Meeting will be held at a specially prepared track. Leon Madsen admits that one-day tracks are not his favourite ones.

- It will be quite new for me. This track gonna be bit different than at GPs. For sure, it's gonna be interesting. I think it's gonna be similar for all of us. I'm sure they will do good job with the track and we will have some good racing for everyone - Madsen ended.
