Leon Madsen has been having one of the best seasons in his career. Ahead of the third round of TAURON SEC in Daugavpils, Dane is currently second in the overall classification, losing only 3 points to the leader - Jarosław Hampel.
Anywhere Madsen starts, he's been leaving his mark. From the beginning of the season, he leads his Polish team - forBet Włókniarz Częstochowa. In 64 heats, Madsen crossed the finish line as first 33 times. His heat average looks really impressive - 2,391 points per heat. Dane also took Elitserien by storm and with 2,320 points per heat and zero last positions he became a real leader of his team - Vetlanda Speedway.
In the Individual Speedway European Championship, it's Jarosław Hampel, who's on top of the table, but right behind his back there's rider from Vejle. After an unsuccessful performance in Gniezno, Madsen confirmed his great disposition in Güstrow, where he was the runner-up.
- I'm really happy with my racing here, I got many points and got back in the game. It was an important meeting for me. I didn't do well in Gniezno, but I knew that good score in Güstrow will take me up in the overall classification. We still have two rounds ahead. Currently, I'm second overall, so there's a lot to fight for. Now, we're celebrating, but already looking forward to the next round, which will definitely be a tough one. This year, all riders starting in TAURON SEC have been on a high level. There are no easy heats, you just have to stay sharp and keep getting points - Madsen said.
Third round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship will be held in Daugabvpils. Two years ago, at this track, Madsen was ninth after gathering eight points.
- It's a long track, so I think it will suit me. I'm looking forward to this round. I'll be ready - Dane ended.
