Antonio Lindbaeck made a big comeback to the Individual European Championship. During the first round of TAURON SEC 2018, Swede took the 2nd position by gathering 13 points.
Even though Lindbaeck started in Gniezno club few years back, he wasn't seen as a favourite to grab the win in the inaugural round of TAURON SEC 2018. However, his first three heats proved everyone that "Toninho" was in a fighting mood on Saturday's evening in Gniezno. After first three series of starts, Lindbaeck was on top of the table, along with Jarosław Hampel. In the next heats, he was finishing behind rivals' back and ultimately came up second in the big final.
- It was a good meeting for me. I ended as second, which makes me really happy. Racing here in Gniezno was not easy. At the outside there was a lot of material and some holes as well. I managed to find good setups for this meeting and end it in a good style. I'm happy with my score and look forward to the next meeting - Lindbaeck said.
Second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018 will be held in Güstrow. Lindbaeck is heading to Germany as a vice-leader of the series.
- I haven't had many chances to race there, but it's a totally different meeting. Next round is a next chance to win. I'm going to Güstrow to give my best. We'll see what will happen - Lindbaeck ended.
