Latvians have announced their squad for the inaugural tournament of Speedway Best Pairs Cup as first. They event takes place in Toruń on the 28th March. One of the representatives of Latvia in this tournament is Andrzejs Lebedevs who told us about season 2014 and also about preparations and expectations concerning current times.

  Last year they were last in Speedway Best Pairs Cup although they never were at this place in a particular round. Andrzej Lebedevs, Kjastas Puodzuks and Maksim Bogdanovs will start during the inauguration of the series in Toruń with the wild card. Successors of Wladimir and Iwan Rybnikow would like to surprise favorites. Will they manage to do that?

  Individual Australian Champion, Jason Doyle has confirmed that he will be racing in Region Varde in the coming season. The representative of “Kangaroos” will join to Mads Korneliussen, Joonas Kylmaekorpi and Max Fricke.

  Polish silencer has got an approval from FIM and it is possible for riders to use it in 2015. It is said that during the tests which were made by riders themselves it made great impression, much better than so called “new silencer” which was used for a few season and it has still been a subject of many discussions. What does Tomasz Gollob think on this matter?

 During the coming season fans again will have an opportunity to get excited because of the rivalry of speedway national pairs. After the success of last year edition, One Sport – the organizer of the event, has decided to stay with the formula consisting of three tournaments. The first one takes place on the 28th March 2015 in Toruń, so already in 64 days!

 There are over two months until the new season starts. Riders are coming for groupings, they are training hard to have strength before the league. They will ride on a track at the beginning of March (if the weather is okay). In the mean time, already on the 28th March the best speedway duos in the world will start in Toruń. Slowly we are starting countdown to the first heat!

 Christian, now it is time for preparations for the new season. How does it look like in your case? Do you have some new things in your preparations?
- I follow a strict fitness plan and I’m training 2-3 hours in the gym. I am also running or cycling every day accept Sundays. Additionally I’ve bought a new motocross bike to keep me fit and it’s very good to sit on a bike through the winter. I am also riding in a speedway-on-ice series which includes six indoor ice meetings.

 What does Tomasz Gollob do in his free time? How did you spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve?

- I hear this question quite often. The most often people ask me about it because they want to know as much as possible about a rider, what he does when he doesn’t ride. These days are in a way divided. Every rider needs relax and peace when he ends a season. That’s what I did in November and December – I was relaxing. However I don’t hide that I always spend my free time actively because I was riding motocross since the end of November 2014. Christmas I spent with family as each of us, in the company of loved ones. Honestly now I’m concerned with the new things which are closer and closer and January 2015 is organizational. Next, at the beginning of February I will go to motocross to Spain where I train my stamina. Later is the busiest time so March – April when we start riding in league and other tournaments. That is how last months looked like and what is important it has looked the same for thirty years.

 The last round of this year’s Speedway European Championships series takes place in Ostrów. The organizers have prepared many events for the last few years which they gathered many fans at the stadium. Will it be similar this time? We have asked about it the president of the club Mirosław Wodniczak.

 After one year break Americans, who are led by World Champion Greg Hancock, are coming back to struggle for the title of the best speedway pair in the world. Will riders from the United States be able to make a surprise and make the task more difficult for the best national teams in the world?!

 One Sport, the organizer of Speedway Best Pairs Cup series has revealed the ticket prices for the three tournaments during the press conference. During the tournaments six national teams and one with a wild card for particular event will be fighting for the title of the best pair in the world. The ticket prices are really attractive and we already today encourage to buy them.

 In 2015 the cities Landshut and Guestrow will exchange events which are organized by One Sport. The second round of Speedway European Championships takes place at One – Solar Arena in Landshut and, on the other hand, in Guestrow, on a very specific track the best pairs in the world will fight in Speedway Best Pairs Cup.
